Drew describes discovering sites that promised free Robux, Roblox's paid in-game currency, through surveys and ad clicks. Because parents rarely funded these purchases, children clicked links and installed software without caution. Some operators ran large-scale schemes, paying small amounts to thousands of participants while earning far more from the ad traffic they generated. Drew notes profit margins that reached roughly eight times the cost of compensating each child, turning casual players into a commodity. The same environment also hosted discussions of black-hat tactics, such as cloning popular user-created games to siphon revenue.
