When Did Pete Davidson Become So Unlikable? + Ariana Madix’s Major Career Move

Pete Davidson sat down with Variety for a wide-ranging interview, and the clips that went viral were not the parts where he discussed getting clean from a multi-drug addiction that included shrooms, acid, ketamine, pills, and whippets. What caught fire was his take on TikTokers and influencers. "Get ready with me... who the fuck are you?" he said, framing the content as people talking to themselves for money. The hosts of Chicks in the Office found the comment lazy, outdated, and hypocritical coming from a comedian who also makes millions entertaining people. "He's acting like he's out there saving lives," one host said, pointing out that influencing is simply a different form of entertainment. The comparison felt particularly off because Davidson dated Kim Kardashian, arguably the world's most famous influencer. The hosts argued that a girl doing her makeup while telling a story about her date is trying to hit punchlines and juice up her content the same way a standup does on stage. The joke wasn't just bad; it felt like a misogynistic swipe at an industry dominated by women.
