The album came out on the 13th, he died on the 13th, and the thirteenth song was about him. "It felt very cosmic," she says. "After that, I was like, okay, every thirteenth song now and every one of my albums will be about my dad." But ending on the thirteenth track is "pretty much a downer every time," so fourteen became her sweet spot.
