You have heard the name Lucifer your whole life. Doug Hamp says it was never there. The Hebrew University-trained scholar and author of the Corrupting the Image trilogy returns to the basement to show that the word behind Lucifer in Isaiah 14 is not Lucifer at all. It is Hillel, and it traces back through Akkadian to a Sumerian deity named Enlil. Nobody in the ancient world knew a Lucifer. But Enlil is everywhere.
