In 1977, Hal drove six hours north to the Standing Rock Reservation after reports of Bigfoot activity around Little Eagle, South Dakota began appearing on television and in newspapers.

Late one night, alone at his campsite near the river, Hal heard something approximately 600 feet away.

Three shorter sounds. Then an incredibly loud, prolonged wail.

Within moments, dogs in the nearby village erupted. Coyotes on a ridge joined them. Nearly 50 years later, Hal still remembers exactly what that sound did to him.

His story continues on his rural Mississippi property, where years of unexplained activity have included enormous partial tracks, strange nighttime snorting, an unusual skunk-like odor, possible animal mimicry, recurring wood knocks, mysterious objects, and fleeting black movement through the brush.
