"Mommy doesn't love me if I'm not a girl"

A father named Jeff told Asmongold that his ex-wife—a pediatrician—began telling their son he was a girl when he was two years old. By age three, the boy was repeating what his mother told him. Jeff recorded a video of that conversation and posted it online under the title "Mommy says I'm a girl." The mother reportedly put the child in timeout and said things like "don't be a boy" and "the monsters only eat boys." When Jeff tried to stop it, she filed for divorce and used her professional connections to push him out of the family home.

A decade-long custody battle over a child's gender

Jeff has twin sons, James and Jude. James is the one his mother has been trying to transition. According to Jeff, James never presented as a girl with anyone except his mother. At church, he dressed as a boy and went by James. When Jeff asked why he played along with his mother, the boy said: "Mommy doesn't love me if I'm not a girl." Jeff told the court-appointed counselor that James was embarrassed to wear dresses to school and did not want to. The counselor then initiated a CPS investigation against Jeff for "forcing him to be a boy."
