"They've been lying to us" — Asmongold on the LA protests, National Guard deployment, and political theater

The episode opens with a striking statistic: mosquitoes have killed nearly half of all humans who ever lived. That's not the topic, though — it's a Gates Foundation ad that bookends the show. The actual content is a running commentary by Asmongold on the anti-ICE protests that erupted in Los Angeles, the deployment of 700 Marines and thousands of National Guard troops, and what he sees as a deliberate failure by local officials to contain the violence early.

The core dispute: show of force vs. political denial

Asmongold's central argument is straightforward: the protests were allowed to spiral because Mayor Karen Bass and Governor Gavin Newsom refused to act decisively in the first days. He points to the five-day delay in implementing a curfew as evidence. "If they had shut this down immediately, it would have never happened," he says. The LAPD arrested dozens of protesters for violating the curfew, and Bass warned that violators "will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law" — but Asmongold frames that as too little, too late.
