Reddit is f*cking evil, man.. | Asmongold TV

"Recently more of the rude words, accusations, and name-calling came from some of those she considered close friends."

That line from a tribute video is what sets off Asmongold's reaction to the suicide of Michaela Raines, a woman who ran a fox rescue and had been the target of a sustained online harassment campaign. Asmongold watches the video on stream and spends the episode working through what happened, who is responsible, and what should actually be done about it.

The death and the coordinated campaign

Michaela Raines ran Save a Fox Rescue and had been subjected to years of coordinated harassment, much of it organized on Reddit. A subreddit called "Save a Fox Snark" existed specifically to post negative content about her, spread rumors, and attack her reputation. Asmongold reads through the video's description and comments from the subreddit's members. One user, responding to accusations of bullying, wrote: "I'm not backing down, fuck off." Another claimed: "All I did was put a few other sources, did nothing wrong. I had no hand in bullying or any of the kind."
