Kel'Thuzad is BACK! Asmongold Reacts To Shadowlands NEW MODELS

"Death was merely a setback? No, death again was merely a setback." That's how Asmongold greets Kel'Thuzad's return in the Shadowlands Alpha—the third time the necromancer has come back from the dead, and the streamer is visibly tired of it. But the models themselves? He's genuinely impressed. The episode is a live reaction to leaked character models from the Shadowlands Alpha, and it functions as a running commentary on what Blizzard is doing right visually, what feels recycled, and whether shiny new textures can fix an expansion's deeper problems.

The visual upgrade is real—but uneven

Asmongold spends most of the runtime cycling through updated character models, and his reactions range from genuine excitement to mild disappointment. The Jailer, the expansion's main antagonist, gets the strongest praise: "Holy shit, dude. This looks badass." Asmongold notices the Jailer has no heart—a hollow chest cavity that contrasts with the Arbiter, who has a black heart in the same spot. He reads this as intentional visual storytelling: "Notice how the arbiter has a black heart and the jailer is missing his? Yeah, that's crazy." He compares the Jailer to Morgoth from Tolkien's legendarium, positioning him as a primordial evil compared to Arthas as a lesser echo.
