"I'm losing my god damn mind" — Asmongold's house is falling apart

At 4:20 in the morning, after sleeping only two hours on the floor, Asmongold found himself crawling through his attic in the dark, covered in dirt and sweat, searching for a dead animal he could smell but not find. He was there for an hour and a half. He didn't find anything. He took a shower afterward — which he presents as the true measure of how bad it was. Then he sprayed orange citrus spray around the house, so now, as he put it, "it smells like an orange rat died."

The living conditions that led to this

This wasn't a one-off problem. Asmongold described a cascade of household failures that have been building for years. His father recently pointed out that he's been sleeping on moldy pillows, that there's mold throughout the house, that the carpet is rotting, that dirt and bugs are everywhere. His father asked him, genuinely, how he's still able to breathe. Asmongold admitted that breathing has been difficult lately — "everything that I eat and taste now tastes like a dead animal."
