Asmongold announced he will begin multi-streaming on Kick starting tomorrow, joining the platform's partner program while continuing to stream on Twitch. The announcement came a day late because he mistakenly thought May had 30 days and planned to reveal it on June 1st, only realizing his error partway through his stream.

Why Kick instead of YouTube

The decision to go with Kick rather than YouTube came down to DMCA issues. Asmongold explained that YouTube's copyright enforcement makes it "not feasible" for him to stream there, even though he would have preferred it. He also noted that Kick previously did not allow multi-streaming, which would have led him to start sooner. There was no signing bonus or large financial incentive involved — he simply joined the partner program after building a relationship with the team there.

The real motivation: platform instability

The primary driver behind the move is concern about Twitch's moderation policies. Asmongold pointed to the recent ban of VTuber Lucy Pyre for showing "a little bit of curvature" in her model, contrasted with other users who face no consequences for threatening violence. He described this as a platform that "doesn't have a lot of stability," and expressed concern that Twitch could make "a drastic change" to its moderation approach that would make the majority of his content against the rules.
