"A Negative One Kill Streak"

The 25-year-old who bombed a Palm Springs IVF clinic was identified as Guy Edward Bartkiss, a self-described "pro-mortalist" who believed people should not be born without their consent. He left recorded manifestos explaining his ideology: that bringing people into the world subjects them to future suffering, and the only solution is to sterilize the planet of what he called "the disease of life." He killed only himself.

The Ideology and Its Label

Bartkiss's worldview falls under "pro-mortalism," the belief that existence itself is a net harm and that the ethical choice is to prevent life from beginning. His manifesto stated: "Life can only continue as long as people hold the delusional belief that it is not a zero-sum game causing senseless torture and messes that it can only partially clean up." He called for "a war against pro-lifers" — but clarified he meant people who want to be alive, not the abortion debate.

The host pushed back against attempts to pin this on left-wing ideology. "I don't think this person is a leftist," he said. "I think this person is just an extreme radical, and they're so far down the rabbit hole of radicalism and extremism." He argued that someone who would kill everyone if given the chance is not playing a political side — they're outside any recognizable political framework.
