"Thirty hours. Yes." That's how Asmongold opens his stream, settling in for what he expects will be the final stretch of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. He has spent two or three weeks of streams on this game, and he is about to enter the monolith — the endgame area that every expedition before his has failed to survive. What follows is not a polished walkthrough but a raw, unscripted account of a player who has fallen completely under the game's spell, navigating its punishing combat, labyrinthine side areas, and increasingly strange narrative with equal parts frustration and delight.

The Gun and the Master Plan

Asmongold's approach to Expedition 33 is built around a single, almost absurdly simple strategy: shoot everything with a gun. He has built his entire party around Verso, a character who can generate enormous amounts of AP (action points) and deliver devastating damage from range. "It's all about the gun," he says repeatedly, and he means it literally. He rarely parries, often fails to dodge, and admits freely that his reaction time is terrible. But he compensates with what he calls "the master plan" — a pre-battle setup so optimized that he can brute-force most encounters before the enemy gets a meaningful turn.
