In 2025, guards at the Genkai nuclear power plant on Japan’s southern island of Kyushu watched three lights circle the reactors for two hours, hovering 150 feet from two active units, with no visible propulsion or exhaust. Japan’s parliamentary UAP caucus wasn’t satisfied. They inspected the site themselves and concluded that an aircraft made no sense. This incident sits at the center of an extraordinary episode of American Alchemy, in which host Jesse Michels interviews Yasukazu Hamata, Japan’s most consequential defense minister since 1945, who publicly acknowledged that aliens visiting Earth is a “viable hypothesis” to explain consistent UFO activity worldwide.
