Mephiston, the Blood Angels' Chief Librarian, brings word that twenty-seven chapters have arrived, including some not recorded in Imperial archives. When Dante asks if Cadia has fallen, Mephiston admits he would not know.

Hive Fleet Leviathan is knocking on the doors of the Arx Angelicum, and Commander Dante is fighting through crushing existential dread and survivor's guilt to lead the sons of Sanguinius in what looks like a doomed final stand.
